Chemistry for Jeddah's conditions

Jeddah's heat speeds up every chemical reaction in the water. Chlorine is used up fast in direct sun, so stabiliser is essential for outdoor pools, but too much stabiliser makes chlorine less effective. Getting that balance right is the difference between a clear pool and a pool that needs constant shocking.

Fill water can also be hard, and in hot water calcium comes out of solution as white scale on tiles and in heaters. We monitor calcium hardness and adjust pH and alkalinity to keep it dissolved.

What should my pool's pH be?

Between 7.2 and 7.6. In this range chlorine works well and the water is comfortable for eyes and skin.

Why is my pool green even after adding chlorine?

Usually because pH is too high, stabiliser is too high, phosphates are feeding algae or the filter is not working well. We test for all of these and fix the cause.

How long does it take to clear a green pool?

Most pools clear in 24 to 72 hours. Very green or neglected pools may need longer or a drain and clean.

Are your chemicals safe for children?

Yes, when correctly dosed. We use standard pool chemicals and keep levels within safe swimming ranges, and we tell you when it is safe to swim after treatment.

Can I buy chemicals and do it myself?

Yes, and we are happy to advise. Many customers prefer us to handle it because the right dose depends on accurate testing.

Do you treat salt water pools?

Yes. We balance salt pools the same way and also check the salt level and the chlorinator's output.
